  6. Original  version  was written by Anders Melchiorsen. This new version of
  7. FetchRefs has been adapted to SAS/C by me, with permission (R.Florac).
  8. While the program have been changed  (the ARexx interface  changed a lot)
  9. it should allways be compatible with older versions. Let me know if there
  10. are some problems.

  12. This new version corrects a bug causing the program to crash on 68040 and
  13. 68060 processors  using a cache.  FetchRefs has  been localised  too, but
  14. GenerateIndex has not been changed (it was working perfectly).

  16. The guides are    the original guides,  written by Anders,  except for some
  17. slight modifications.
  18.  
  19. As Anders no  longer works with an Amiga,  I'll maintain the new versions
  20. and bug corrections, if needed.  Send me the catalogs for your country if
  21. you wish to use a localised version of the program for your country.

  24. FetchRefs is a utility to quickly  look up stuff in AutoDocs and  include
  25. files.    It  becomes  a part of your editor through ARexx.  Simply press a
  26. key and a new window will open.  This window  contains    documentation  on
  27. whatever name the cursor was at when you pressed the key.
  28.  
  29. With support for both AutoDocs and C,  Assembler,  and    E  include  files
  30. most  programmers  should not need feel overlooked.  Scripts are provided
  31. for well known editors: CygnusEd, Edge, EMACS, FrexxEd, GoldED, TurboText
  32. and Amitex. Due to the ARexx interface, support for other editors is only
  33. a new ARexx script away!

  35. Other advantages include wild  card support, optionally case  insensitive
  36. search,  a  powerful GUI driven index file generator,  automatic handling
  37. of "TagList", "Tags", and "A" postfixes to function names,  and a  window
  38. with  a  list  of possibilities  if you search for something that several
  39. references match.

  41. FetchRefs 1.3 is not much  more powerful than version 1.2,  but a big bug
  42. that caused processors with  a cache to crash has been corrected.  It has
  43. been localised too  (french catalog included).  The  DICE compiler is not
  44. used for this new version, SAS/C is now used (sources have been adapted).
  45. All  in all,  it is worth installing this version no matter if you have a
  46. previous version installed or not :-).

  48. An Amiga with Kickstart 2.04 or higher is required. A harddisk and  some
  49. RAM  is  suggested. While both Triton and ReqTools are used, only Triton
  50. is included.
